Astral Travel is a term used in esotericism to describe an intentional out-of-body experience (OBE) that assumes the existence of a soul or consciousness called an “astral body” that is separate from the physical body and capable of travelling outside it throughout the universe.
Last year, my friend and I purchased Apple watches around Christmas. My goal is to be more hands free, and also to break away from always having to be by my phone. I want more human contact. My friend and I dubbed ourselves Agent 007 (her) and me, Agent 008. We felt very high tech to say the least.
We found an app that tracks your sleep. I found this rather fascinating. Why? I DREAM ALL-THE-TIME. This app tracks your heart rate when you sleep. I could see when I got up to use the bathroom, I could also see the long stretches of sleep and when I tossed and turned.
In learning about all things WOO WOO of late, the world of Astral Travel came up. I listened to the information and tucked it away. It could explain some of my dreams that feel so real! Seriously, my dreams feel SOOOOOOO real sometimes. Every have one of those dreams that you feel you got up, go through your morning routine and get in car to go to work, hear a horn and realize it is your ALARM and you hadn’t even gotten out of bed yet? WEIRD! Isn’t it?? IT FELT SO REAL. I’ll go into dreams later, but my point is that I dream a LOT. So having this app on the watch gives me a way to look at my dream state as I woke up as to how much I tossed and turned for the night, etc.
Luckily, I don’t have to get up to use the bathroom but maybe once a night, if that. Those are the hash marks in red. I have seen those since the git-go. So TRUST ME when I saw these LOOOOOOONNNNGGGGG stretches of red, my logical brain is trying to figure out WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT???? What happened???
Both nights I can attest, I did not do ANYTHING BUT SLEEP. I had dreams upon waking up both times. Same routines. If I got any messages from my dreams I write them down. Trust me, I was surprised looking at the app on these mornings, I noticed my heart rate and how the dots show it going down, disappear for a bit and then show back up and increase. Did I flat line? Sleep walk? No clue. So with the information on Astral Travel coming up around me, it makes me wonder if for a short while my soul leaves my body to go—- SOMEwhere. Then upon returning, pick back up and move into another dream? Mind you this has only happened twice so I have ruled out a sleeping disorder. If that were the case I would think this would happen with more frequency or in some sort of a pattern. To date these are the only two times it has happened.
Like the top reading was from 1:55 AM to 3:30 AM. That’s a LONG TIME. To add further intrigue, should I had gotten up for a while and then got back into bed, my heart rate would not re-start at the low registered rate. It would start out higher and come back down as I relaxed. SO I have NO CLUE. Watch malfunction? Sleepwalking? Astral travel? Participation in a dream? Things that make you go hhhhhhhmmmmmm…….
